Rebel

For a while now I wanted to create a shot called Rebel. A simple thing like a name can sometimes provide an entire photo concept and I felt this title wasn't just catchy, it would also offer an interesting backstory to the picture, without me needing to tell it.

Naturally, I required a rebellious looking model, hairstyle and design matching tattoos - after all a woman like this would not be someone to toy with.

Our model from the south of France sports short shaven hair, which fits my concept perfectly but I soon realized it added an enormous amount of design work to get the transfer tattoo design right because it needs to cover a larger skin area.

Having visited stunning Kamakura just weeks earlier, the Japanese tattoo influence is obvious but I'm convinced it's the right choice.

She nailed the look. Maybe it's Mad Max, maybe Eastern Promises. Who knows?
